Our new tour of Southern Tanzania will show you the remarkable landscape and wildlife of Ruaha National Park and the Selous Game Reserve. Spectacular game viewing, luxury camps and even a night in the bush, under the stars, will give you a truly wonderful and memorable safari experience.
On arrival in DAR ES SALAAM you will be transferred to the The Oyster Bay Here you will have the opportunity to totally relax in this luxurious hotel before commencing your adventure around Southern Tanzania
A ‘light’ aircraft will fly you over spectacular mountains and plains to Msembe airstrip in Ruaha where you will be met by your guide. He will escort you to the heart of the RUAHA NATIONAL PARK, where you will stay for 3 nights at kwihala, a six-tent camp. This is camping ‘in style’ - with proper double beds, flushing toilets and warm, ‘bucket’ showers.
The guides and hosts at Kwihala will make you most welcome, look after you and interpret for you the wonders of this special national park and ensure you enjoy the thrill of sleeping under canvas while listening to the noises of the African night! Enjoy the wonder of safari, rising early in the cool of the morning to marvel at the variety of the big game as it comes to drink at the Ruaha River, returning to camp for a hearty breakfast. There is plenty of opportunity to spot predators and prey in this unspoilt park, far away from the normal safari circuits.
After a short flight from Ruaha you will land in the SELOUS GAME RESERVE at the private airstrip of Beho Beho. This is one of the finest camps in East Africa and for 5 nights you will have a very special and memorable experience. The guest ‘bandas’ at Beho Beho are luxuriously furnished, constructed of local stone and thatched in palm leaves.
Dinners are a big event around a family candle-lit table where guests and guides can discuss the fun and excitement of the day where guests and guides can discuss the excitement of the day, listening to the sounds of the bush - or yet another 'tall story'. At Beho Beho walking safaris are a speciality, conducted by experienced guides. There are also lake safaris to see hippos and crocodiles and open safari cruisers for game driving, always stocked with meals or sundowners.
A special treat here will be one night spent sleeping in the bush. Dinner will be around the camp fire, under the stars, with your guides at hand to keep a vigilant eye open as you get a good night’s sleep. However, this might be interrupted by sounds of the bush close by!
A final night will be at the Oyster Bay in Dar Es Salaam before your flight home.
