VAKONA FOREST LODGE, ANDASIBEVakona Forest Lodge is located south east of the capital, Antananarivo A short distance from Andasibe village. In a unique garden setting in the heart of the Malagasy natural landscape, surrrounded by a natural lake, is the Vakona Forest Lodge. The Lodge is set within its own private park where there are 28 accommodation bungalows. All are carefully decorated with en suite bathrooms and wc, safe, mini-fridge and mosquito nets. In the lounge there is a TV and WiFi access is available anytime. The restaurant is situated in the heart of the complex and comprises a huge room with lunch being taken around a central chimney. The restaurant opens on to the outside with a terrace overlooking breathtaking views on the lake. There are plenty of activities whilst at the Lodge, including billiards and squash and a number of marked trails leave from the lodge and thread their way into the heart of the forest. There is also the chance to go canoeing and horse-riding. In the private park there is an opportunity to see (and interact with) many Lemurs. In the Andasibe National Park (Perinet) you should see one of the larger Lemurs, the Indri. You will also see crocodiles and reptiles such as chameleons, and for the adventurous, night time walks are organised by prior arrangement with the hotel to see many nocturnal species.

charming guest house is situated in the capital, Antananarivo (Tana). It has 12 guest rooms which are all individually decorated. All have a garden or city view and have private bathroom, satellite TV, telephone, personal safe, air-conditioning and WiFi. There is a no-smoking policy, but there is a smokinmg terrace and a garden. The dining room is reserved for glass-hotel guests for buffet breakfast and other meals. In the library there are about 200 books on Madagascar providing an enormous amout of information about the island and its origins. The living room, stairs and corridors are decorated with paintings and archival photographs that trace the history of this fascintaing country. MANDRARE RIVER CAMP
Mandrare River Camp, in the south of Madagascar, is set in the grounds of an old colonial plantation house opposite the sacred Ancestral Forests of the Antandroy Tribe. It has just 6 large tents, each with en suite facilities (bucket shower and chemical toilet). All the tents have a verandah overlooking the river and a terrace right on the river's edge so that you can relax with binoculars enjoying the fantastic bird-watching. There are a number of activities available, including day and night walks to find the five species of Lemurs present here. With permission from the local chief you will be taken into the designated forest areas to view the uniqueness of the spiny forest.

MANAFIAFY BEACH & RAINFOREST LODGE
To the east of Mandrare River, on the coast is Manafiafy Lodge and Rainforest Lodge. Here there are six bungalows on the edge of the forest just a few metres walk from the calm blue waters of the ocean in a sheltered bay. The lodge is entirely solar-powered and each bungalow has hot and cold running water. Each bungalow has a private deck with magnificent sea-views.
