HOTEL TIGAIGA is located in PUERTO DE LA CRUZ in northern Tenerife. This part of Tenerife is much less commercialised than the busy south. The island here is bordered to the north by the Atlantic Ocean and to the south by verdant parks and banana plantations. The main shopping area of the town is largely pedestrianised and it is easy to roam about admiring the buildings, visiting the museums, browsing through the shops or relaxing at one of the many pavement cafés. Carnival time is is during the month of February and each town has celebrations at different times of the month.

LORO PARK in Puerto de la Cruz, with its acres of stunning gardens containing all types of animals and birds, and specialising in the protection of endangered parrot species, and the botanical gardens, are short taxi rides away.

The old capital LA LAGUNA and the town of LA OROTAVA, both easy taxi rides from Puerto de la Cruz, hold some beautiful examples of traditional architecture. The capital, Santa Cruz, is also rich in architecture and has museums housing art treasures and historical artefacts of the Canarians. There is a lively flea market on Sundays.

We have arranged VIP taxi transfers from the airport taking about 55 minutes. Our local Representative will visit you at the hotel twice a week and do everything possible to make your stay an enjoyable one.

TOURS
There are many tours available including visits to other Canary Islands either by boat or air and our Representative will be pleased to make arrangements if you wish to visit another island. She will also make arrangements if you would like to explore Tenerife and see something of the beautiful and rugged interior, as well as the rest of the island. Car hire can be arranged locally.

WEATHER
Generally speaking the climate is mild, moderate and soft throughout the year with little rainfall. It is never too hot or too cold and average temperatures range from 18ºC in January to 25ºC in August.
