The Algarve is on the main route of birds migrating south from Europe and even from the Arctic Circle, so ornithologists can see about 200 different species come and go during the year. Golfers have a choice of eight first-class courses, the nearest being about 25 minutes from the hotel.
Along this rich fishing coast, towns and villages all offer a large selection of fresh fish and shellfish cooked in a variety of traditional ways. A wide range of good Portuguese wines compliment any menu, and of course, port.
