Cavus Bay has plenty of small restaurants, shops and cafés with the nearest being 3-4 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the lovely sand and shingle beach, which is reached by a short path across the adjoining field. Swimming from here and around this coastline is marvellous and there are sometimes limited watersports available further along the beach.
Surrounded by the clear blue Mediterranean and the impressive Taurus Mountains, CAVUS BAY is a beautiful part of southern Turkey.
Situated south-west of ANTALYA, and well off the beaten track, pine forests cover the hillsides and vegetables, fruit, corn and wheat grow in abundance in the valleys and lowlands. ADRASAN is the original name for CAVUS and the old village of that name with its few shops, chemist, mosque and weekly market is about 4 km inland.
There are walks for everyone here whether you want to stroll slowly around the bay or require a real challenge. There are many narrow tracks and paths, winding along the coast, amongst village homes and farmland, through woodland or along the riverside. Wherever you wander you will see Turkish village and rural life continuing in its timeless way.
BOAT TRIPS
This is an outstanding area for boat trips and 5 are included in the holiday price. The boat will take you to beaches for barbecue lunches and to islands and caves set in towering cliffs for swimming in beautiful turquoise waters. The boat is also available for optional trips (dependent upon numbers) – a sunset cruise, or perhaps an evening visit to see the eternal flames of the CHIMERA. All boat trips will, of course, be subject to weather conditions and full serviceability of craft.
OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS
The number of archaeological sites within reach of Cavus include TERMESSOS, PERGE, ASPENDOS, and the little-known and outstanding site of ARYKANDA. Also PHASELIS with its three natural harbours and the waterside site of OLYMPOS.
KUMLUCA has a typically Turkish market every Friday where you will see few foreigners and can buy herbs, spices, cottons, silks and many other gifts. KEMER also has a weekly market and our local village of ADRASAN has a market every Sunday. This is a great social occasion for all the local people as well as a chance to buy all the produce they don’t actually grow themselves. The cost of optional tours is dependent on numbers and easily arranged, even for small groups.
REPRESENTATIVE
Our Representative will visit you regularly at the hotel and do everything to help you enjoy your holiday.
She will arrange your airport transfers (approximately 1 ¾ hours by coach to the hotel), accompany you on the included boat trips and some optional tours and organise other optional tours on request.
